Vern Swanson's farewell

I had a great time doing an alla prima portrait of Vern Swanson this summer, to commemorate his retirement from the Springville Museum of Art after over 30 years. The other artists who participated were: Ryan Brown, Zach Proctor, Jeff Hein, Casey Childs, Brian Kershisnik, and Bruce Smith.

Our Portrait workshop in Helper, Utah, this summer was a big hit. The participants did some killer work and everybody had a good time.

Springville Museum of Art 2012 Director's Award

I received the Director's Award this year at Springville, and they purchased the painting.
